I build morning newscasts from the ground up: the editorial calls, the writing, the sound, the opens, and the control-room execution when news breaks before the city wakes up.
What I produce
WAVE News Sunrise, weekdays from 4:30 a.m. and weekends from 5 a.m.
Weekdays, I produce the 4:30 a.m. Sunrise newscast.
Weekends, I produce the 5, 6, 8:30 and 9 a.m. newscasts.
A1 · Meet the producer
I grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and studied broadcast journalism at the University of Missouri, where I focused on television producing.
Today I produce WAVE News Sunrise in Louisville, Kentucky: the 4:30 a.m. newscast on weekdays, and the 5, 6, 8:30 and 9 a.m. newscasts on weekends.
Before Louisville I was at KOMU 8 News in Columbia, Missouri, where I produced the evening shows, ran the weekend newscasts as executive producer, and covered local and breaking news across Mid-Missouri.
I started as a reporter, first at KOMU 8 and then at the Missouri Business Alert, shooting and editing my own stories. That reporting background still shapes how I build a show.
